Founder's Story...

In a quaint workshop suffused with the scent of pine and oak, Kile Parent stands as the embodiment of a life shaped by wood and ink, graphics and gears. His story, like the grains of wood he carves so skillfully, is rich with layers and etched with the meticulous care of a true artisan. Growing up with the hum of the bandsaw as a lullaby, Kile's childhood was framed within the walls of his parents' furniture company. There, amid sawdust and chisels, a young boy’s fascination with wooden toy guns sowed the seeds for a lifelong vocation in craftsmanship.

Kile's journey meandered through the byways of industry and innovation. His early dalliance with newspapers, as a carrier and then a graphics wizard, instilled in him an appreciation for the daily mosaic of stories and advertisements. The lure of the printing press soon beckoned, its inky embrace teaching him the delicate dance of color and precision, a mess job that embedded the specter of print deep within his soul.

The cavernous halls of the local newspaper's pressroom were Kile's next frontier, where the thunderous Goss Community presses were his to command. Later, the intricate choreography of flexographic printing unfurled before him at Gothic House, each label a testament to the accuracy and flair Kile brought to his craft.

But the siren call of academia briefly steered Kile towards the shores of philosophy and psychology at Worcester State. A single semester sufficed to chart his true course—a network of kindred spirits and the lure of the burgeoning computer industry. A computer wizard in the making, Kile's path zigzagged from software engineering to corporate networking, from the design of pioneering GPS navigation systems to the helm of a software firm's technology strategy.

The dawn of the internet era catapulted Kile into entrepreneurship with Hey Communications, bringing the digital world to his community's doorstep. Yet even the boundless realms of cyberspace could not anchor Kile's restless spirit. Corporate America beckoned once more, this time with Avocent, where Kile's prowess in the datacenter domain flourished.

Fate, however, has a fickle hand. Twice summoned by the specter of layoffs, Kile's resilience never waned. A brief tenure in the insurance software sector was followed by a pivotal role as the Technical Director of Sales for a British software expansion in the Americas.

But it's within the echoes of the woodshop where Kile's story finds its chorus. WindWood Carvers isn’t merely a business; it's the culmination of a life's tapestry, woven from the threads of each past endeavor. Design, graphics, engineering, and woodworking—every skill Kile mastered through the years—is now interlaced within the carvings that bear the WindWood mark.

And so, by serendipity or fate, a CNC router found on Facebook Marketplace became the catalyst for WindWood Carvers. Kile's deft hands and keen intellect transformed a dormant machine into a conduit for creation. Here, Kile Parent, the boy who once crafted toy guns, now shapes tales in timber, continuing a legacy that began with the furniture of his family's making.

This is the tale of WindWood Carvers, where every chip of wood is a piece of history, every carving a chronicle of Kile Parent's journey. It's a story still being written, with each new piece a paragraph, each sale a sentence in the ongoing narrative of a life where passion and skill converge in the artistry of wood.
